every pearlescent strand of galaxy you swallow catches starry halos in your throat...shades of heather, hay and russet twirl and trapeze about your tongue. you speak fire. honey lips and crawling eyes, but yours is a language evoked and ignited, not governed. i made you wings; you flash burn each vane to the backs of your arms and the charred tips of your ten white fingers. it's a persistence and an epithelial thirst. i need you. i'm heavy and i'm awkward. every beam and belfry sagging gently as an old soul would be expected to. your breath is electricity and your innocence is hungry. i need you.

so many things have changed. so much life has been swirling around and through and out of me. i'm a mother. i'm a wife. i'm a lover and a well of hope and peace...and i've never been more content with restlessness. life is finally happening. this little rowboat is clearing one rock after another after another, like a river of small and insignificant giants. each step is a quiet battle, and around each bend is an old world. through all, love satiates. love is us.
